You can get around the country easily by train or coach. Here are the websites for The Trainline, National Express and Megabus. Often, it’s cheaper to fly, so check out Cheap Flights or Travel Supermarket for good deals.
In the rest of Europe, the weather is better and so’s the food. Not really, but you should still go as it’s not that far…
Catch the Eurostar from St. Pancras or go InterRailing. Stay with other students in a hostel and make friends! Also, you could go Couchsurfing or use Airbnb.
