The exclusive legal right, given to the author for a fixed number of years, to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical material
Examples of using this word:
• he issued a writ for breach of copyright
• making an unauthorized copy would infringe copyright
• these are books whose copyrights have lapsed
Remember you may only copy or scan a “fair” amount of a copyright protected work which as a general rule is defined as:
one chapter from a book, a single article from a journal or 5% of a publication
