Word of the Week – amnesia


Amnesia

Loss of a large block of  memories; complete or partial loss of memory caused by brain injury, shock, etc.

Example: Jason Bourne was suffering from amnesia

This is different to selective amnesia which means:

the deliberate forgetting of something  – has this ever happened to you?

  1. Thank you, Monna. this is because I was curious about the word of loss of memory. Moreover I did not know that the meaning of loss of memory about particular events that is very convenient for the person who cannot remember is selective amnesia.
